Do you see anything different or out of the ordinary in this screen capture?

No? Looks pretty much like a standard DeltaV Explorer view of a DeltaV network. In the left center is a DeltaV Foundation Fieldbus I/O Card with Port 1 highlighted. So what’s the deal?
Well, this is a DeltaV V11 S-Series H1 I/O Card with Integrated Power (see photo below). We installed the card, connected 24 VDC power to the proper connection on the carrier, moved a segment connection from an M-Series H1 Card, selected the Decommissioned Fieldbus Devices and the list showed us everything connected on the segment. A piece of cake!! Very smooth.
We commissioned the devices and downloaded the entire segment. Again – a piece of cake!! We then started Intelligent Device Manager and Rebuilt the DeltaV Hierarchy and scanned the devices on the segment. From the DeltaV Explorer a device on the segment was selected, a right mouse click gave us the device menu.
All of the Intelligent Device Manager functions worked just as smooth as silk. Looks to us like this will be a great way to connect segments. It will save space in cabinets and make for easier segment connections. For new projects, looks like the best way to go!
